Xenia Papadopolou

Themed Residency: She, Ruins, Everything

Xenia Papadopoulou is a visual artist and a writer. She holds an MA in Fine Arts from the Athens School of Fine Arts and a MSc in Conservation of Cultural Heritage by the Gothenburg University. Papadopoulou is a multidisciplinary artist, constantly exploring material and form and always with the purpose of deconstructing and reconstructing social meanings and structures.

In her late works, sewn paper and fabric function as direct carriers of the restricting and excluding politics applied to the female body, through its image and its practices, and through the years.

Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in museums and galleries such as: Stiftung und Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg, Berlin (2025), Paper Positions, Berlin (2025), MOMus Alex Mylona, Athens (2024), Art Athina, Athens (2024), Paxos Biennial, Paxos island (2024), TAF, The art foundation, Athens (2024), KOREN process space, Athens (2021), among others.
