Abi Joy Samuel (b. 1993) is a London-based artist working across sculpture, painting, photography and performance. Her work moves through questions of female subjectivity, power, seduction, and personal history, often returning to the body as a site that can be contorted, and remade. Distorted figures, charged gestures, and removal of gazes run throughout, pushing against the ways bodies are seen and framed. Using plaster, silicone, found objects and metal armatures, she builds installations that feel part relic, part living form-caught between stillness and animation-where control, exposure, and the act of looking remain unsettled.
