A multimedia exhibition featuring new paintings, installation, textile sculptures, drawings, and video works unpacking the devastation of recent wildfires and using alchemy to process them.

In the wake of destruction, I’ve been thinking about alchemy. wildfire destroys the known sights of childhood, my fingers hold the memories.

how does one transform lead into gold? a lead plumb bob hangs on a thread, measuring rectitude: perfection. a tool to build a home. blackness settles down, contains the mystery.

What remains? charred mementoes. reconstructed photographs. home videos. the crunch of glass underfoot. echoes. piles of ash. what will be seen?

( the alchemist seeks a purer vision: lenses of honey and sequins; spark within a fertile void - - ---- )

In the room I built my freedom light casts through curtains softly. Safe space, vessel. It is, it was.

You spent the whole night waiting, when she said the words you cried, it is gone.
