Avery Staton (they/them) is a relational designer and artist based in Oakland, CA. They shift across disciplines exploring the relational dynamics that animate social ecosystems, engaging in interventions that disrupt inequitable power dynamics and cultivate care.
As an equity design strategist, co-creation facilitator, and healing-centered coach, Avery supports institutions in the realms of city planning and public health to approach the communities they serve in the spirit of greater collaboration, solidarity, and accountability. As an artist and writer, they invite others into co-investigations of the nature of the connective social tissue that shapes our lives, aiming to introduce questions and build toolsets that enable positive transformation.
