Loulou Kokkedee

Rolling Residency & Textiles Course

Loulou Kokkedee is a visual artist and curator based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In her research and curatorial practice she is dedicated to uncovering the lives and works of people whose stories risk being lost to history. Convinced of the uniqueness and narrative power of every individual life, her exhibitions celebrate the richness and diversity of human creativity.

In her own artistic practice, Loulou explores the fine line between seemingly opposing forces such as lightness and gravity, and order and chaos. Working across a range of media, she investigates the point at which harmony gives way to chaos and whether the two can coexist, in art and in life.

Loulou holds a BA in English Literature and an MSc in Public History from the University of Amsterdam. Most recently, she curated the exhibition Unseen Talent: Women of the Amsterdam School at Museum Het Schip in Amsterdam.
