Yemiliia Tsarkova is a Ukrainian artist currently based in London. Born in Kherson, Ukraine, she moved to Portugal in 2014, where she developed her artistic practice before relocating to the United Kingdom to pursue an MA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art.

Her multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, installation, painting, sound, and moving image, exploring speculative futures through the intersection of mythology, ecology, and cultural memory. Drawing from extensive research and travel, her work engages with diverse narratives, including desert nomadic traditions, Amazonian ecosystems, Slavic folklore, and contemporary theories of post-humanism.

Tsarkova is particularly interested in what may emerge after environmental collapse and technological transformation. Rather than viewing apocalypse as an ending, she approaches it as a site of transition where new forms of life, consciousness, and coexistence become possible. Through hybrid sculptures and immersive environments, she creates fictional ecosystems inhabited by organisms that exist between the human, animal, botanical, and technological realms.

Her installations function as fragments of imagined worlds, bringing together cultural histories, future speculation, and ecological research. By combining organic materials with constructed forms, she investigates adaptation, survival, and the evolving relationship between humanity, technology, and nature in an uncertain future.
